Measure the finished opening

Measure width at the bottom, middle, and top. Measure height at the left, center, and right. Record all six readings, the units, and whether trim or flooring is still to be installed. Do not convert the measurements into an order size yourself.

Record working clearances

Measure left and right sideroom, headroom above the opening, and backroom into the garage. Photograph beams, ducts, lights, storage, and the operator. Clearances must suit the selected track and door construction.

Photograph the structure

Include the outside elevation, both jambs, header, spring mounting area, floor, and existing track. Note uneven floors, damaged framing, and anything that prevents the opening from being square.

Have measurements confirmed

Use your measurements to begin the discussion. A qualified installer should verify the opening, mounting structure, clearances, and final order dimensions before fabrication. Never loosen springs, cables, or loaded hardware to obtain a measurement.

Keep all six opening measurements, jamb and floor condition, sideroom, headroom, backroom, section build, glass, finish, track, counterbalance, operator, performance, freight, photo, and installation note connected to the same door ID.

Questions about this topic

How do I get a price?

Select the series, model, design, finish, glass, and opening dimensions. The final quote confirms product options, fit, freight, and installation scope before ordering.

Are all finishes and windows available on every model?

No. Model, panel style, dimensions, and finish affect availability. Use the series brochure as a starting point and have the final combination confirmed in writing.
